DSK MotoWheels-Hyosung launches the 2013 GV650 Aquila Pro Cruiser and facelifted GT650R in India. The Indo-Korean motorcycle joint venture, DSK MotoWheels-Hyosung, has just launched two motorcycles in the form of the 2013 GV650 Aquila Pro cruiser and the facelifted GT650R sportsbike. Both motorcycles come with a competitive price tag. The Aquila Pro 650cc is priced at Rs.4,99,000 and GT650R 2013 is priced at Rs.4,69,000 ex-showroom. The bikes will be sold across 21 dealerships in India.

Pro Cruiser Motorcycle With the 2013 Hyosung GV650, the Aquila nameplate makes a reappearance into the Indian high end motorcycle market after nearly a decade. The last Hyosung motorcycle to be sold with the Aquila badging is the Aquila 250 cruiser, a motorcycle that was imported and sold by the erstwhile two wheeler division of Kinetic Engineering. The 2013 Hyosung GV650 Aquila Pro cruiser uses a 650cc V-Twin engine borrowed from the Hyosung GT650R sports bike. The power output of this engine is 72 Bhp at 9,000 rpm while torque output comes in at 62 Nm delivered at 7,250 rpm.

2013 Hyosung GT650R Sportsbike While the engine remains the same 650cc liquid cooled V-Twin motor good for 72 Bhp and 61 Nm, Hyosung claims to have remapped the ECU for better low end and mid range performance. The motor is mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox. The 2013 Hysoung GT650R’s price has now been dropped to INR 4.79 lakhs, and the motorcycle will continue to be assembled through CKD kits imported from South Korea.

Honda CR-V Discontinued Officially, New CR-V Coming in March 2013

Japanese auto giant, Honda that launched the new generation Honda CR-V in the UK in October is now all set to roll out the similar vehicle in India as well. We brought you the official images and details about the car back in September 2012, now it seems that the launch is quite near. Our sources have confirmed that the existing CR-V has been officially discontinued, and the 2013 CR-V will come in March 2013. And what has made us believe on this further is the fact that Honda Cars India has removed the current generation CR-V from its official website now, which means the car has already been discontinued and soon their will be the next generation Honda CR-V.

The next generation CR-V has certainly got better in most departments than its predecessor be it the quality, refinement or practicality. But there will still not be the diesel version of the vehicle in India, so India might have to wait for another year to get the diesel CR-V. Pricing too has not been announced by the company as of now, we are expecting it to be between Rs. 20 and 24 lakh, which will make it an ideal competitor of Outlander and BMW X1 Petrol.

Dimension wise, the new Generation CR-V get shorter and lesser in length than the outgoing version. For the first time Honda CR-V will be available with a choice of two and four-wheel drive option. Moreover the new model takes on a more assertive and aerodynamic stance with a bolder nose section.

- Honda's first diesel car in India

Honda Motors India is all set to bring the new and fresh Honda Brio sedan, which is named Honda amaze. This one would be the first diesel car by Honda in India. The car is expected to be launched in 2013 – 2014. The most excitement about the launch of Amaze is 1.5 litre of i-DTEC diesel engine, which is expected to debut with Amaze. However, so far, the company has kept mum on the topic, but rumors are going on strong and the car will come powered with 1.5 litre of i-DTEC diesel engine, while the petrol engine will of 1.2 litre and would certainly impress the aspiring car consumers.Honda Amaze is actually based on the Brio platform, and with the teaser launched in the official web page of Honda in Thailand, we clearly saw that the car has some hints of Honda City. Not much information was revealed by the video, but the stylish and contemporary design without a doubt captivated all. Apparently, this one has been specifically designed for the Asian markets. Even the naming has been done as per the features. Honda Amaze is designed and developed keeping in mind the needs and requirements of an aspiring car consumers. The features installed inside keep the ability to ‘amaze’ everyone.Coming back to the engine part, the petrol version of Honda Amaze is likely to get powered by 1.2 litre of i-VTEC petrol engine churning out 88PS of peak power and coupled with five-speed manual transmission. Even the diesel engine (1.5L) would be coupled with the same gearbox. With the mating of the engines with this gearbox, one could expect quite an imposing performance from the sedan. However, all car fanatics are eagerly waiting for an official word on the diesel variant of this Brio based sedan, but looks like the car maker loves to surprise its fans. Since the main competition of the Amaze will be the segment leader Maruti Swift Dzire which is sold a an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs. 4.91 Lakhs and Rs. 5.99 Lakhs for petrol and diesel base models respectively, we can expect the Amaze petrol with a 1.2 Litre i-VTEC engine to be priced between Rs. 4.80 Lakhs to Rs. 5 lakhs Lakhs and the Honda Amaze Diesel’s price between Rs. 5.80 Lakhs to Rs. 6.10 Lakhs for the base model.

Maruti Alto 800 Launched In India

Maruti Suzuki India has launched new model of its popular car Alto in India on 16th October 2012 in India. The new 2012 Maruti Alto 800 comes with host of improvements over the previous generation of Maruti Alto. (Read – Maruti Alto 800 Vs Old Maruti Alto). The new Alto comes with major cosmetic upgrade, in fact, on the exteriors, its an all new car. The interiors of the car have also been improved vastly over the previous version. The engine has also been improved and has become more efficient and deliver higher torque than the older engine.

On the dynamics and handling, the Alto has not changed too much as the new Alto 800 uses the same suspension setup as the older generation car with minor tweaks. The new Alto 800 is also uses the same platform as the older car. some of the new features of the Alto 800 include high mileage of 22.7 KMPL, improved styling, aggressive front grille, clear glass headlamps, combination cluster tail lamps, sharp styling and body lines. Maruti Suzuki India is country’s biggest car manufacturer. The company has always offered its consumers with affordable and fully-featured cars. Recently, the Maruti India had stopped the production of its most loved and saleable car, Maruti 800. Now the Japanese auto manufacturer is working on a replacement which is christened as’ Maruti Alto 800’. As the name suggests the car will be made on the platform of Maruti Alto and would be as affordable as Maruti 800. Apparently, the new Maruti Alto 800 will be priced around Rs. 2 lakh. The test runs on the car have already begun.

The five speed manual transmission coupled with the engine is makes the car to give out 17kmpl of mileage on the city roads and this goes up to 22kmpl on the highways. The CNG powered Alto 800 variant is capable of running about 17 km per kg during high traffic condition and on the highways 20km per kg on the highways.

The freshly launch Maruti Alto 800 is based on the tried and tested Maruti Alto platform, which has gone under some minor modifications for the betterment of the car. The 0.8 litre of three cylinder engine under the bonnet is modified to churn out peak power of 45.7bhp at the rate of 6000rpm along with producing torque 69Nm at the rate of 3500rpm. The 796cc of engine is performing certainly way better on road as compared to Maruti 800. Even the CNG variant has been powered by the same engine, but is capable of performing nicely on road. The CNG variant here churns out enhanced power of 40bhp at the rate of 6200rpm along with producing maximum torque of 56Nm at the rate of 3000rpm.

According to sources at M&M who refused to be identified, the much awaited SUV from SsangYong, the Rexton would be launched during this festive season on Diwali. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) acquired the South Korean auto maker SsangYong last year in February 2011 and it had, since then, been looking for the best opportunity to launch this reputed SUV in India. Rexton would be the first car from the South Korean auto maker to be launched in the Indian market after its acquisition. However, it has still not been confirmed if Mahindra would launch the Rexton III or Rexton W model of the SUV.

It is believed that the Rexton would be diesel-powered with a 2.7 litre Mercedes-sourced engine and five cylinders. It would come mated with a five-speed automatic transmission with a maximum power of 165 bhp. The car is expected to deliver a good mileage despite the fact that Rexton houses an in-line powertrain.

Though the features available in Rexton are less than most of the available brands in this segment, it is still difficult to speculate the competition. However, so far as the price of the brand is concerned, it would be between Rs. 18 and 20 lacs that would be in the range of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

Since this would be the first car from SsangYong after its acquisition, the mystery over the name of the car still continues if it would be called Mahindra Rexton, Mahindra SsangYong Rexton, or just Ssanyong Rexton.
