The Dept of Food Processing and Engineering and Dept of Automobile organized an Awareness Session on Cyber Hygiene, Safety, and Cybercrime to educate students about responsible digital practices and online security. The session aimed to sensitize participants to the growing threats of cybercrimes and the importance of maintaining cyber hygiene in their daily online activities.
During the session, Er. Barinder Pal Singh, Er. Navdeep Singh and Prof Vidhi Sehgal made students aware regarding cyber threats such as phishing, identity theft, data breaches, and online fraud. Emphasis was laid on adopting safe online habits, including the use of strong passwords, recognizing suspicious links, and safeguarding personal information.
The interactive discussion encouraged students to share their experiences and concerns about online safety. Practical tips were also provided to enhance their digital security and promote responsible use of social media and online platforms.
The session was highly informative and beneficial, helping students understand the significance of cyber awareness in the modern digital era. It successfully instilled a sense of responsibility and vigilance among the participants toward maintaining a secure cyber environment.
At the conclusion of the session, students took a pledge to follow safe online practices, remain vigilant against cyber threats, and spread awareness about cyber hygiene and safety.
