Independence Day Ride : Patiala to ChhattBir Zoo !!
Its been a while have taken my Scott eBike on a long ride & 75th Independence Day was perfect.
As usual it was planned as an early morning ride but as it’s always I got up late & as luck would have it the weather was perfect overcast ideal for riding the bike.
So,I decided to ride for 75 Km for our 75th Independence day.
This day also had two events lined up on electric vehicles First by Ola electric & Second by Mahindra.
Ola event was to be live by 2pm & Mahindra event was 5pm,I had to plan my ride accordingly so that I can see both events live & of-course then update on Xroaders tweeter handle & pages as well.
Patiala & ChhattBir zoo distance was 54 Km from my home thus total ride would be close around 105-110 Km.
All set to go,i started the ride to make a stop over at Rajpura as it would be half the way and I would be able to see the Ola electric event as well.
Stopped over a park,in Rajpura ,where Independence Day flag was hoisted, watched the live Ola electric event, updated on the official handles of Xroaders.
Then had some kids at the park, they were excited to be clicked with our National Flag saluting.
Post, our clicking session we played the rural sport the “Goli-Danda” after that it was time for me continue my ride further.
Started to ride back again to the chat bir zoo,had a stop over at the Gian Sagar medical college, further the last 3 Km of ride was the most special as it was full of greenery all around.
It was a total of 60 Km ride upto the chat bir zoo, ofcourse it was closed on 15th August.
Halted at a tea stall, for some refreshment watched the second event of the day Mahindra born electric ,it was a spectacular event it took time to post about it and thus took time to start back to patiala.
For riding back I had decided not to make any stop over other than for hydration.
I rode on Eco mode for about 70 Km,then while riding i could attain speeds of 23 Km/h on Eco mode while riding leisurely.
E-bikes are highly efficient, mid drive ones are incredibly efficient in Eco
Mode easily thus 130 Km range is easily achievable, even with the Led Drls on.
Post 70 Km I changed from the Eco mode to sports mode then to turbo mode, eventually reached home with the Odo at 115 Km.
Turbo/sports mode are really fun go once you reach a speeds around 25-27 Km/h if you can sustain the speeds battery range increases further.
Initial ride in Eco mode I was able to sustain 23-25 Km/h but later on I was getting tired & in Eco mode the motor assist only 25% with more ride time on Eco mode, speeds reduced to 18-19 Km/h which makes rides boring & you just don’t enjoy riding.
In Sports /Turbo modes I was able to sustain 25-27 Km/h speeds easily, with motor giving 250% assist thus riding is really fun & enjoyable.
Post the ride odometer reads 4437 km,will be touching 5000 Km.
