MSRTC said it will launch its first-ever electric bus on June 1 on the Pune-Ahmednagar route on a day when the state-run transport body will enter the 75th year of its operations.

The new e-bus, christened as "Shivaee", will be launched in the presence of chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and other dignitaries at the premises of the corporation's regional office in Pune.

Tata Motors in association with its 24 dealer partners, across the state of Maharashtra and Goa, delivered the country's highest selling Electric Vehicle - the Nexon EV and the electric sedan Tigor EV to customers, in the biggest EV delivery event held by a 4-wheeler OEM in India.

564 Nexon EV and 148 Tigor EVs were delivered.
