n Feb 1, Bajaj Auto, one of India's leading two-and three-wheeler manufacturers, is expected to launch a 150-cc motorcycle brand called 'V', the company's first product in 2016 and the eighth in the financial year. The 'V' brand will have metal from the decommissioned (in January 1997) and dismantled Indian Naval Ship (INS) Vikarant, the country's first aircraft carrier which became famous in the
1971 Indo-Pak War. The motorcycle will have a special logo to tell people that Bajaj V has been forged from 'the invincible metal of INS Vikrant' and will perpetuate a nugget of Indian military history. In 1957, India had purchased the HMS Hercules, originally commissioned by the British Royal Navy during World War II, and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru formally inducted INS Vikrant into the Indian Navy, in Bombay on Nov 3, 1961.
