So when it leaves your kitchen, or your workshop, it doesn't just vanish. It goes somewhere. The question is where?

If it's collected properly - and handed over to authorised recyclers, the right way - it actually becomes useful again. Used cooking oil can serve as feedstock for products like Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Used lubricating oil gets recovered and put back into circulation instead of pulled fresh out of the ground. Same oil, completely different story.

If it's not collected properly, it ends up in a drain, soil or in water somebody downstream is going to use.
