We are silent. We have always been silent.
Not because we don’t see what’s happening, but because we see everything.
The extent of design copying of Artkhana RS across West Bengal is heartbreaking. We are stunned, disappointed, and hurt.
The irony is painful.
As original creators, we are expected to navigate lengthy legal procedures, documentation, and copyright applications—often waiting months before receiving protection for a design we conceived, sketched, developed, and brought to life.
Yet copying takes only a moment.
The people who invest months, sometimes years, creating something original are the ones burdened with proving ownership. Meanwhile, those who simply collect designs from different brands and market them as their own “in-house production” continue without hesitation.
Do they even understand what in-house truly means?
Originality isn’t downloading an idea, recreating it, and calling it your own. Originality is the countless hours of research, failed attempts, sketches, craftsmanship, and imagination that happen long before a product is launched.
The system often forces creators to spend their time, money, and energy proving what is already theirs.
So we chose silence.
Not because we are weak, but because our energy is better spent creating the next masterpiece than chasing those who can only imitate.
They may copy our designs.
But they cannot copy our imagination.
They cannot copy our years of learning.
They cannot copy the grey matter that creates what comes next.
Recently, we came across someone selling a copied version of our Lord Jagannath Eye Pendant while building a business around faith and devotion.
For us, Lord Jagannath is not merely a product or a marketing tool. He represents faith, reverence, and blessings. We believe that when your intentions are honest, truth finds its own way.
You may copy a design.
You may copy a photograph.
But you can never copy the mind that created it.
And no one prospers for long by taking away another creator’s livelihood.
Jai Jagannath.
