Every human being works for the purpose of happiness in life.
In these important verses of Gita Chapter 18, Bhagwan Shri Krishna reveals the ultimate secret.

The grace of God is the ultimate benefactor. Today, Shri Krishna while ordering Arjuna says that you will do the work according to my direction. Then you will get over all the troubles. But if out of ego you drive your mind, then you will go on the wrong path.

Due to attachment, Arjuna was unable to understand the instructions of his companion Shri Krishna. Then God says that you are bound by your natural actions. Considering it your duty and keep performing work.

The detached soul (Atma) achieves the goal, of being in unison with the Param Atman, the universal energy.

Let us explore further a question we always ask when we are in difficulty.

मोह वश अर्जुन अपने सार्थी श्री कृष्ण के निर्देश को समझ नहीं पा रहे थे, तब भगवान कहते हैं कि तुम अपने स्वभावजन्य कर्म के बाध्य होकर, अपना कर्तव्य मानकर यह धर्म युद्ध करो।

What are the three forms of karma?
Amrit Gita Gyan Sandesh, Bhagwan Shri Krishna explains that:

The actions prescribed by the scriptures, performed without ego, attachment and desire for fruit, are Sattvic Karmas.

The actions which are performed with the desire for pleasures, egoistically and with diligence are called Rajasic Karmas.

The actions which are done only out of delusion, without considering the consequences, harm, violence and power, are Tamasic Karma.
