Deepak Gir Restorations Restoration of Vintage Cars. Component cleaning and refinishing Easier said than done !

The guiding principle at Deepak Gir Restorations is, simply put, returning an automobile to a condition like when it left the factory floor brand new. What this implies is a laborious, painstaking process of ensuring every fastener comes off and all parts are thoroughly cleaned, inspected for conformity to original specifications, repairs or replacements carried out as necessary, and refinished to factory finishes. At this level of restoration you are essentially dealing with thousands of small bits and pieces and no corners are cut. The end result more than speaks for itself as not only does the car look right but feels right when you drive it.

After a very long hibernation, and truthfully am ashamed that a stupid kink in my head to want to use APX 110 after restoring her meant the old lady just sat at home, finally fired her up today. The brakes have been completely redone but some radiator hoses need to be changed and small issues addressed.

The worst thing you can do to a car is to let it just sit.

Have learnt my lesson and hopefully APX 110 should grace Hyderabad roads and our meets regularly.

The best way to maintain a car is to drive it.

Reviving a '65 Mercedes 220 sb w111.012 series that has been in hibernation for more than a decade.

The car had lost its original zenith 35/40 carbs and although a fellow restorer from Bombay advised I was wasting my time trying to source the zeniths as they are a nightmare to sort I persisted and am glad the car is running on Zenith carbs the Merc engineers intended for the car.

A 1965 Mercedes 220 sb w111.012 comes alive after a long hibernation

These classic six cylinder Merc engines are a delight. And I made sure to source the original Zenith 35/40 iNAT carbs to bring the motor back to life.
