വണ്ടി ആക്സിലറേറ്റ് ചെയ്യുമ്പോഴോ, കയറ്റം കയറുമ്പോഴോ എഞ്ചിനിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു തട്ടുന്ന ശബ്ദം (Knocking sound) കേൾക്കുന്നത് പലരും ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാകും. ഇതിനെയാണ് 'എഞ്ചിൻ നോക്കിംഗ്' (Engine Knocking) എന്ന് പറയുന്നത്. ഇത് നിസ്സാരമായി കണ്ട് അവഗണിച്ചാൽ എഞ്ചിൻ തന്നെ മാറ്റി വെക്കേണ്ടി വന്നേക്കാം.

🛑 എന്തുകൊണ്ട് എഞ്ചിൻ നോക്കിംഗ് സംഭവിക്കുന്നു?

എഞ്ചിനിലെ ഇന്ധനം കത്തേണ്ട കൃത്യസമയത്തിന് മുൻപേ കത്തുന്ന അവസ്ഥയാണിത് (Premature Detonation).

പ്രധാന കാരണങ്ങൾ ഇവയാണ്:

* മോശം ഇന്ധനം: ഗുണനിലവാരം കുറഞ്ഞ (Low Octane) ഇന്ധനം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്.
* കാർബൺ നിക്ഷേപം: കാലപ്പഴക്കം കൊണ്ട് എഞ്ചിനുള്ളിൽ കാർബൺ അടിഞ്ഞുകൂടുന്നത് ചൂട് കൂടാനും നോക്കിംഗിനും കാരണമാകും.
* തെറ്റായ ഇഗ്നിഷൻ ടൈമിംഗ്: സ്പാർക്ക് പ്ലഗ് കൃത്യസമയത്തല്ല പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതെങ്കിൽ.

* ലോഹ ശബ്ദം: ആക്സിലറേറ്റർ കൊടുക്കുമ്പോൾ ലോഹങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ കൂട്ടിയിടിക്കുന്ന പോലെയുള്ള ശബ്ദം (Pinging sound).
* പവർ കുറവ്: വണ്ടിക്ക് പഴയതുപോലെ പവർ കിട്ടാത്ത അവസ്ഥ.
* മൈലേജ് കുറയുന്നു: ഇന്ധനം വെറുതെ പാഴായിപ്പോകുന്നു.

✅ എങ്ങനെ തടയാം? പരിഹാരങ്ങൾ

* നല്ല ഇന്ധനം ഉപയോഗിക്കുക: നിർമ്മാതാക്കൾ നിർദ്ദേശിക്കുന്ന ഗുണനിലവാരമുള്ള പെട്രോൾ/ഡീസൽ മാത്രം അടിക്കുക.
* കൃത്യമായ മെയിന്റനൻസ്: സ്പാർക്ക് പ്ലഗുകൾ, എയർ ഫിൽറ്റർ, ഫ്യുവൽ ഫിൽറ്റർ എന്നിവ കൃത്യസമയത്ത് മാറ്റുക.
* കൂളിംഗ് സിസ്റ്റം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക: എഞ്ചിൻ ഓവർഹീറ്റ് ആവാതെ നോക്കുക (കൂളന്റ് ലെവൽ ചെക്ക് ചെയ്യുക).

പഴയ ഹാൻഡ് ബ്രേക്കിന് പകരം കാറുകളിൽ ഇപ്പോൾ കാണുന്ന അത്യാധുനിക സംവിധാനമാണ് EPB. ഒരു ബട്ടൺ അമർത്തുന്നതിലൂടെ കാർ സുരക്ഷിതമായി നിർത്തുന്ന ഈ വിദ്യ എങ്ങനെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് നോക്കാം.

EPB സിസ്റ്റത്തിൽ പ്രധാനമായും മൂന്ന് ഭാഗങ്ങളാണുള്ളത്: ഇലക്ട്രോണിക് കൺട്രോൾ യൂണിറ്റ് (ECU), ആക്ടിവേഷൻ ബട്ടൺ, ആക്ച്വേറ്റിംഗ് മെക്കാനിസം എന്നിവ.

നിങ്ങൾ ബട്ടൺ അമർത്തുമ്പോൾ, ECU-ലേക്ക് സിഗ്നൽ എത്തുന്നു. ഈ യൂണിറ്റ് ബ്രേക്ക് പാഡുകളെ ഡിസ്കുമായി മുറുക്കിപ്പിടിപ്പിക്കാൻ ആക്ച്വേറ്റിംഗ് മെക്കാനിസത്തെ സജീവമാക്കുന്നു. ഇതോടെ പാർക്ക് ചെയ്ത വാഹനം അനങ്ങാതെ നിൽക്കും.

EPB സിസ്റ്റം പ്രധാനമായും രണ്ട് രീതിയിലാണ് വാഹനങ്ങളിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്:

1. ഹൈബ്രിഡ് സിസ്റ്റം:
ഇതാണ് പരമ്പരാഗത ഹാൻഡ് ബ്രേക്കിനോട് ഏറ്റവും സാമ്യമുള്ളത്. പഴയ ഹാൻഡ് ബ്രേക്ക് ലിവറിന് പകരമായി ഒരു ഇലക്ട്രിക് മോട്ടോർ ആണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ മോട്ടോറാണ് കേബിളുകളെ വലിക്കുകയും ബ്രേക്ക് പിടിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത്.

2. ഫുൾ ഇലക്ട്രിക് സിസ്റ്റം:
ഇതിൽ കേബിളുകളുടെ ഉപയോഗമേയില്ല. ബ്രേക്ക് കാലിപ്പറുകളിൽ നേരിട്ട് ഘടിപ്പിച്ച രണ്ട് ഇലക്ട്രിക് മോട്ടോറുകളാണ് ബ്രേക്കിംഗ് നടത്തുന്നത്. ഇത് കൂടുതൽ ശക്തമായി ബ്രേക്ക് പിടിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ സാങ്കേതികമായി കൂടുതൽ സങ്കീർണ്ണമാണ്.

EPB കൊണ്ടുള്ള ഗുണങ്ങൾ

* ബാറ്ററിയെ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു: കാറിന്റെ ബാറ്ററി പൂർണ്ണമായി ഡിസ്ചാർജ് ആയാൽ EPB പ്രവർത്തിപ്പിക്കാനോ റിലീസ് ചെയ്യാനോ സാധിക്കാതെ വരും.

* സർവീസിന് പ്രത്യേക ടൂളുകൾ: ബ്രേക്ക് പാഡുകൾ മാറ്റാൻ പോലുള്ള ജോലികൾക്ക് പ്രത്യേക ഡയഗ്‌നോസ്റ്റിക് ടൂളുകൾ ആവശ്യമാണ്.

* എമർജൻസി ബ്രേക്കിംഗ് പരിമിതി: പരമ്പരാഗത ലിവർ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പെട്ടെന്ന് ബ്രേക്ക് ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലുള്ള മാനുവൽ നിയന്ത്രണം ഇതിൽ ലഭ്യമല്ല.
