2026 Britten V1000 scale model.

We are very pleased to release these photos of our completed prototype 1/12 scale model Britten V1000. These and previous ones show the high detail and what can be achieved with this kit-set. We are sure that everyone will be impressed with the final result, a culmination of five years of work between Italy and New Zealand.

We would like to congratulate the designer manufacturer, Fabrizio Caniglia, the model builder Roberto Rostagno and Francesco Lorenzetti for the great photography.

We do have a second bike currently under construction in the black and yellow CR&S livery due for completion later in the year.

You can find more information about these at our website or reserve a V1000 kit-set for yourself by emailing us at [email protected]

Our assembled scale model prototype is nearing completion and we are happy to share some updated photos of its progress. We will have more photos of the completed bike next week so standby to see the amazing final result.

Other good news is that our third production run has been completed and we will be contacting another group of 50 people on our waiting list soon. We currently still have over 100 people waiting so not everyone will be contacted in the next few weeks. If you have been waiting for a long time, you could be in this group and we ask you to keep an eye on your spam folder as we have had advisory emails screened out before.

Back in 1991 and 1992, film maker and photographer Harry Ruffell had special access and documented the creation of John’s new Cardinal Britten V1100. Upon the bike’s completion and before it was released to the world, he took a series of photographs capturing a special moment in time.

Four of these have recently been selected and released as photographic art. These will look magnificent in an array of settings and are available from our web store www.britten.co.nz sold separately at $50NZD for an A2 size (420mm x 594mm) each or as a set of four. Two images are available in the larger A1 size (594mm x 841mm) for $100 each.

We also have our historic set of five Britten motorcycle posters available at $80 per set and all posters can be sent together at one postage rate. Treat yourself today.

What is wrong with these pictures?

Take a very close look before reading further.

The answer is nothing, except - you might think you are looking at a real Britten V1000 but you’re not. Look again. What you are seeing is our new scale model Britten and the level of detail which can be achieved. This is our example model still under construction.

Our third production run is due late July so we will be in touch with more fans registered with us on our advisory list around that time. If you aren’t on the list and would like to be, please contact us at [email protected] or you can message us through our web store, Britten.co.nz Thanks again to all of our loyal fans for your support.

Due to popular demand, we are pleased to advise of the re-release and expanded 30th Anniversary edition of the book “The John Britten Story” now available at $90 NZD.

A lot has happened in the last 30 years since this iconic book was first printed so it has been updated and has a completely new chapter added covering key events and happenings with photographs from the last 30 years.

This is a must have for Britten fans and with that in mind, we have two collectors editions of 500 books available while stocks last. 500 signed by Kirsteen Britten and 500 by Andrew Stroud. Each copy is individually numbered.

This is a high quality publication and weighs in at 1.2 kg. We will post these globally and post costs in NZD are $15 New Zealand, $32 Australia and $67 to the rest of the world for a single copy. We will post multiple copies together and can quote you for multiples.

To order - email us at [email protected] advising of your country and how many copies you want and we will reply with a total cost. These will be supplied via our web store and can be viewed there but can’t be purchased directly from there at the moment due to freight cost variations so you will need to email us to order a copy.
(The web store may say “sold out” but this isn’t the case, we do have good stocks presently)
Secure yourself or a significant other a great read and thanks again for your support.

We would like to thank the team at Classic Motorcycle Mecca for their custodianship of the Britten motorcycles and other assets trusted to their care for the last nine years. They built the biggest Britten display in the world and brought the Britten story to so many who greatly appreciated and enjoyed it. The Britten collection might have moved on but Mecca is still a five star motorcycle exhibition with a very wide selection of makes and models so do support them and treat yourself to a fantastic motorcycle experience.

The Classic Motorcycle Mecca team have farewelled the incredible Britten collection, which has been on display since 2016 👋.
It has been our privilege to showcase these incredible motorcycles. John Britten's story is known the world-over and it is only fitting this is told in a collection dedicated entirely to him. We cannot thank the Britten family enough for the honour of displaying these remarkable motorcycles for the past nine years and wish them and The Britten Museum all the best for the future.
