E20 Fuel – Disadvantages You Should Know,
E20 fuel isn’t a problem for vehicles specifically designed for it, but in older or non-E20-compatible motorcycles it may have some drawbacks:
• May cause a leaner air-fuel mixture if the engine isn’t tuned for E20.
• Can reduce fuel economy due to ethanol’s lower energy content.
• Ethanol absorbs moisture, which can contribute to corrosion and fuel contamination during long storage.
• May accelerate wear of older rubber hoses, seals, and plastic fuel-system components not designed for higher ethanol blends.
• Can lead to hard starting or rough running after prolonged storage in some carburetted motorcycles.
• May require carburettor re-jetting or EFI recalibration for optimum performance in modified engines.
