the Activa 3G isn’t very different from the current Activa’s design, and it continues with the conservative styling of its predecessors. The Activa 3G gets a new set of 3D badges and new colour schemes, which lend it a premium look. The tail lamp assembly has also been redesigned along the lines of the bigger Activa 125 scooter, though the instrument cluster and a majority of other components have been carried over from the previous model.

The Activa 3G is powered by the tried and tested 110cc Honda Eco Technology (HET) engine which delivers 8bhp and 8.7Nm of torque through a CVT transmission. The Activa 3G gets hydraulic spring loaded suspension and 130mm drum brakes on both the ends.
The Honda Activa 3G is available in black, blue, white, grey and red paint schemes, and rivals the other 110cc scooters like the TVS Jupiter, Hero Maestro, Mahindra Gusto and the TVS Wego.

Hero Honda has become Hero Motocorp but the company’s obsession with paint and sticker jobs has not reduced at all. The Maestro is the latest Hero Motocorp two wheeler to get a paint and sticker job. Twin tone paint now graces the 110cc automatic scooter. Groovy Medley is the name of the new dual tone paint job on the Maestro.

The Groovy Medley colour combines white and red. The Maestro also comes in six other colours – Panther Black, Force Silver, Magnetic Matte Grey, Vital White, Blazing Red and Electric Blue. The Maetsro is the premium automatic scooter from Hero Motocorp. It is priced more than the Pleasure. The Maestro costs Rs. 46,900 Ex-Delhi.

Mahindra Two wheelers expanded its Centuro portfolio as it launched the new Centuro.The Centuro N1 has been priced at Rs 45,700 (ex-showroom Delhi). In a positive move, Mahindra hasn’t removed any of the features found on the Centuro in the N1 as the features were essential in making it stand out among all the commuter bikes which are on sale currently.
The Centuro is loaded with features that are not present even in premium segment bikes in the country such as central locking, anti-theft system with an engine immobiliser and remote 128-bit encrypted flip-key with LED lights. Apart from these features it also employs find me lights to locate the bike in crowded parking lots and guide lamps that continues to illuminate as one walks away from the bike after parking. No mechanical changes have been made on the new offering and it will powered by the same mill as found on the standard bike. The indigenously developed 110cc MCi-5 powerplant puts out 8.6PS @ 7500rpm and 8.5Nm @ 5500rpm and is mated to a six-speed transmission.

The TVS Jupiter was launched by the company keeping in India’s male consumers in mind, who account for 36 per cent of scooter sales in the country. Built on the Wego platform, the Jupiter is powered by an 110cc single cylinder air-cooled engine that churns out 8bhp at 7,500 rpm and 8Nm at 5,500rpm.
The company claims a fuel-efficiency of 62 kmpl in the ‘Eco Mode’. The scooter’s fuel tank can carry 5.3-litre of fuel and can be filled via an external fuel lid above the tail light – a feature that is offered in the Wego scooter. It has a 17-litre under seat storage facility that can accommodate a full face helmet and also a mobile charging point. The 110cc scooter gets a pass switch – the first in the Indian scooter segment and is available in four colours – Pristine White, Midnight Black, Titanium Grey and Volcano Red. The Jupiter competes with the Honda Activa and in some aspects it beats the Japanese scooter.

The Honda Dio has been developed keeping in young consumers of India in mind. The Japanese manufacturer has placed this scooter below the Aviator and the Activa in order to reach wide range of consumers. The Dio that has a young design is very dynamic and unisex in nature.

It is powered by a 109cc air-cooled single cylinder that churns out 8bhp at 7000rpm and 8.77Nm at 5500rpm. The Dio gets the Honda Eco Technology (HET) that helps the scooter deliver fuel efficiency of 60kmpl.

The scooter sport the combi-brake system (CBS) with which both front and rear brakes are applied when the rear brake lever is pressed. It has 18-litres of storage space under the seat and is equipped with zero-maintenance battery and a viscous air filter that requires replacement only after 16,000kms.

Honda Two Wheelers India has launched its first 125cc automatic scooter in India with the Activa 125. Based on the hugely popular Activa, this new model is said to have been developed to offer a compelling blend of performance, efficiency, comfort and advanced features in the highly competitive 125cc scooter segment.
At the heart of Activa 125 is Honda’s newly developed 125cc engine which develops 8.6bhp at 6500rpm and 10.12Nm of torque at 5500rpm. The scooter comes with HET (Honda Eco Technology) as standard. Now, this technology claims to improve efficiency without compromising on overall performance. The Activa 125, as a result, delivers a class-best claimed fuel efficiency of 59 kmpl.

Meet the new 2014 Honda Activa HET Scooter, and before you start scanning the scooter for any visual changes- let us tell you that there are none except for the ‘HET’ badging on the left hand side panel.Coming to the most important part and the biggest change in the new scoot- hidden away under the hood is the new optimized HET Engine (Honda Eco Technology). Internal changes include an offset crank for reduced sliding resistance of the piston, a low tension piston ring, lighter reciprocating parts and improved bearing oil seals. The conventional spark plug has been replaced by a highly ignitable nickel spark plug and optimized induction port.Also the operation of the pulley converter has been optimized resulting in a more efficient power delivery- all for the claimed 60 kpl mark.
