Read my story in the ABOUT section of the page MY STORY:
I am doing road trips for the past 5 YEARS, previously with a TVS APACHE 180 and more recently with a ROYAL ENFIELD THUNDERBIRD 500. Road trips are the way of unleashing my pains and enjoying the freedom of being myself without any gravity on my shoulders. Two years back, I broke my cervical vertebrae (spine), due to a football injury. I wa
s operated and the corrective surgery left me numb, inarticulate and stranded with excessive and continuous nerve pain and spasticity, which killed me each second. The pain was unbearable and when I consulted the doctor, the doctor said nerve problem will subside with in few months, years or you'll never get cured and it is better to stop medications to avoid further complications. Doctor asked me to avoid driving motorcycle and travelling often. I was heart-broken and waited for one year in restlessness and frustration of never becoming myself again. My nerve pain started to reduce and I started to drive again, initially shorter distances and later developed the love for traveling long distances. I never contacted the doctor after that initial phase. Life is an highway, I want to drive it all night long. I still experience a slight nerve pain, it has not completely subsided. But the fact is that, I got used to the pain as it is continuous. Driving has become pursuit of my happiness and it helps me forget the pains of yesterday. I have travelled almost 25000 kms on road after this accident of mine and clocking more and more each day.
