ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಗಡೆಯ ಮೊದಲ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿತೆ ಹೆಸರು ಉಮಾ. 2013 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಾದ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ಅದ್ದೆ, ವಕೀಲರಾದ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಮುಕುಂದರಾಜ್ ಹಾಗು ವಿನಯ್ ಮೂವರು ಸೇರಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲೇ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಗಾಗಿ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದೇ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಚಾಲಕಿಯರಿರುವ ಕ್ಯಾಬ್ ಸೇವೆ. ಸುಮಾರು 50 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಉಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಕಾರು ಚಾಲನೆ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕೊಡಿಸಿ ಸ್ವಂತ ಕಾಲ ಮೇಲೆ ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನದಿಂದ ಬದುಕು ರೂಪಿಸಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಆ 50 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಿಬ್ಬರು ಮಾತ್ರ ಚಾಲಕಿ ವೃತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಛಲದಿಂದ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ದಿಟ್ಟೆ ಉಮಾ. ಏಂಜಲ್ ಸಿಟಿ ಕ್ಯಾಬ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವ ಹೊಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಹೊತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಉಮಾ. ನೀವು ಈಕೆಯ ಸಾಹಸವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿ, ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಆಕೆಯಂತೆಯೇ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಿದ್ದರಿರುವ ಇನ್ನೂ ಹಲವಾರು ಯುವತಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕಾರು ಅಥವಾ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಹಾಯ ನೀಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿ. ಏಂಜಲ್ ಸಿಟಿ ಕ್ಯಾಬ್ಸ್‌ನ ವೆಬ್ ಪುಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಲು ದೂರವಾಣಿ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಿದೆ.

Women in our country are gaining the confidence to excel in all possible professions. Angel Cab Service has evidently helped in empowering the lives of women and has been striving to reach out to as many women as possible. Individual support continues and remains an important way of generating a wider collective ownership to the initiative.

Our Chauffeurs are getting trained with Maruthi Driving School in Bangalore with latest technology. The cost to train a chauffeur is Rs 5500/- which is borne by Angel City Cab. However we would appreciate if volunteers would contribute as per wish and convenience, we could have more than one sponsor for a driver. Support has been extended by Rotary Club Cantonment and Canara Bank to train Women drivers.

We also welcome resource and volunteers for training in etiquette of a good driver, teaching mechanics of a car, road directions. Volunteers can also contribute towards our security products like installing GPS which have been designed for the drivers.
