Engine flush to some extent ensure the engine is free from dust / foreign particles which in turn boost your engine life and also the life of oil you are yet to fill.
Engine flush is not mandatory for change in brand / shift from mineral to synthetic or vice-verse.
Whatever the practice is a proper engine flush should follow the below steps:
1) Keep the engine warm before flush (idling for 5~10 minutes is not sufficient, keep the engine warm as high as possible)
2) Add additive and keep the engine in idle for 5 minutes
3) Start draining the oil when the engine is in idle
4) When 50% of oil is drained, switch off the engine
5) Drain the oil completely
6) Crank the engine once or twice (so that the oil inside the pump will also be drained)
7) Change the oil filter and fill new oil.

Tip for the day

If you live in a hard water area, don't clean your car on a sunny day or when the temperature is above 30 degrees. Early morning or late evening cleaning would be the best as when it is hot the soap and water will dry out and cover your car in calcium streaks quicker than you'll ever be able to rinse it off.
If your car has already got all the hard water marks leave it to the experts like us to remove it.

Understanding the trye size: For example 185 / 65 R13

185 - This is the width in mm of the tyre from sidewall to sidewall when it's unstressed and you're looking at it head on (or top-down). This is known as the section width.
65 - This is the ratio of the height of the tyre sidewall, (section height), expressed as a percentage of the width. It is known as the aspect ratio. In this case, 65% of 185mm is 120.25mm - the section height.
R - This tells you that the tyre is a radial construction. Check out tyre construction if you want to know what that means.
13 - This is the diameter in inches of the rim of the wheel that the tyre has been designed to fit on.

Servicing and Oil checks

Never skip on either of these as these are preventive measures. Use the dipstick - that's what it's there for - and don't run below the 'min' mark. Below that means, there isn't enough oil for the pump to be able to supply the top of the engine whilst keeping a reserve in the sump. All oils, no matter what their type, are made of long-chained molecules that get sheared into shorter chains in a running engine. This in turn means that the oil begins to lose its viscosity over time, and it uses up the additives that prevent scuffing between cams and followers, rings and cylinder walls etc. When this happens, fresh oil is the key and don’t worry about the new engine oil turning black. It will lose its golden-brown colour within a few hundred kilometers of being put in to the engine. Turning black doesn't mean it's not working. Quite the contrary - it means it is working well. It changes colour as it traps oxidized oil, clots and the flakes of metal that pop off heavily loaded engine parts. Just don't leave it too long between oil changes.

Brake squeal.

Squealing brakes are a sign of either :
1. The friction material is all gone and you're jamming the backing plate against the brake rotor.
2. The fit of the brake pad against the caliper piston isn't as snug as it could be.
Either way, the squealing is the result of an extremely high-frequency vibration between the pad, the caliper piston and the brake rotor. Some vehicles have problems with squealy brakes right from the factory. In those cases, simply changing brake pad manufacturer can often cure the problem as the different pads will have a slightly different harmonic frequency, which is harder to attain.

1)Regular Oil Change: – It is the most important and a must follow engine maintenance tip. One should strictly follow the oil change schedule provided by the company in order to keep the lubrication level up to the mark in the engine components. The engine oil catches metal particles and dirt with the time and if not changed at right time, it can affect the engine life very badly.

2)Avoid rough driving: – One should avoid driving vehicle roughly and should adopt engine friendly driving habits like using proper speed-gear combination and avoid overheating of the engine.

3)Maintaining Fluid Level: – The cooling system maintains the engine temperature and keeps it safe from overheating. Thus, maintaining the fluid level in the cooling system is very important and should be checked / refilled on a regular basis.

4)Listen to your car: – Keep a close eye on the performance of every component and scrutinize it carefully as soon as you hear any unusual sound coming out from any component. Even a faulty spark plug or a raddled air filter can prove harmful for over all engine unit, thus these components should be repaired / replaced as soon as you find a problem in any one of them.

5)Regular Service:- One should strictly follow the service schedule recommended by the company. The service includes checking / repairing / cleaning / replacing of many essential components of the engine system. Thus, it falls highly essential for the life and performance of the engine, in a longer run.

What Are the Benefits of Using a Microfiber Towel?

Each microfiber towel contains thousands of fibers that work together to trap dirt, loosen debris and deeply clean where cotton towels cannot. A microfiber is a synthetic fiber with a diameter 100 times smaller than a human hair. The ultra-thin fibers are woven or pressed together to make cleaning products like towels and mops. The microfiber towel works best when it is dry and used without chemical cleaning products.
Less water is used with a microfiber towel than when using traditional cotton towels making it a good green alternative in water challenged regions. The reason less water is used is because the microfiber towel is most often used dry. Wet, soaked microfiber towels are useless for cleaning away dirt and dried substances. Microfibers are very absorbent (a benefit when cleaning up spills) and soaking the towel in water before use causes the open areas in the weave to fill with water. However, lightly misting the dirty surface with water will aid the microfibers to absorb dirt loosened by the water.
Microfiber towels can remove tough dirt that other types of cleaning towels cannot. The curly, thin ends of the microfiber material reach into the crevices of a surface and grab hold of hidden dirt. Cotton towels have fibers that are thick and cannot clean as deeply. Microfibers sweep away more dirt and trap the debris in its fiber content thus removing the dirt and taking the debris with it. Microfibers trap and carry away dirt. However, cotton towels cannot trap as much dirt and the dirt stays on the surface of the towel. Loose dirt then redistributes or resettles on the newly cleaned surface.

Tips for your car. Here is a very common confusion about fuel.

Will higher octane or premium fuel give me better mileage and/or more power?

No. Only those cars(Sports) that have higher compression engines which generate more power and require higher octane fuel to prevent detonation. That's where the myth of "premium = more power" came from. If your handbook says "regular", use regular.
