Last Saturday, the BYD Waterford team took on the Ronin Challenge 2026 — and what a day it was.

We were delighted to support such a unique local event, raising funds for the Waterford Hospice Foundation, while getting a team of our own together to take on the challenge.

Our team of seven runners were all of very different abilities and running backgrounds, but we had one goal: to get to the finish line.

We completed the full 94.3km of the Waterford Greenway and back again in an incredible 9 hours and 7 minutes.

And yes… we came dead last out of 22 teams! 😂

But honestly, we couldn’t have been happier with the result. Every member of the team played their part, pushed themselves and kept going until the massive 94.3km was complete.

A special mention has to go to Joe Martin, who tore his calf muscle just 2km into his 7.8km section. Despite the injury, Joe dug deep and managed to complete his full distance and get back to the team. 💪
