Having first opened it's doors in September 1999, Rally School Ireland has grown to become Ireland's premier motorsport facility. The brainchild of brothers David and Malachy Smyth, the school started with a fleet of 3 rally cars which over the years has grown to a fleet of over 20. The purpose built track is designed not only to test the driver, but the car too. Starting out solely as a rally school, RSI has branched out into drifting, supercar experiences and winter driver training and have built long standing relationships with respected brands such as Pirelli, Subaru and BMW.

Ever wondered what it would be like if you visit the Rally School here to drive our fleet?

When you're called to do your stage, a member of our team will strap you into the car, get the seat position right so you can reach the clutch properly. For our smaller visitors, we add cushions until you're in a comfortable driving position.

When you're ready, the instructor will give you some advice for that specific car and you can ask any questions you need answering. Then you're good to go rallying or drifting! When you're done the instructor will give you some advice on how to get the best out of the next stage.

There are no stupid questions so feel free to ask them anything when you're in there!

Coach Beanie and Ben out driving one of our Nissan 350z drift cars hard and having a great time while doing it! We absolute love when customers come to the Rally School and not only listen to our coaches but bring great energy into the cars with them.

Our coaches really feed off that energy and it makes the days on the track so fun. Our goal is to have everyone driving down the road with a big smile on their face!

Today we had Derek at the visit us at the track here in Monaghan. Derek is blind but he's not going to let something like that stop him from getting out on the track. He mentioned he had always wanted to do a handbrake turn, so with Coach David's help, we made that happen.

One of the best things about the job is helping people from all walks of life get out on the track and leave with a memory they'll have forever.

Well done Derek, you're an inspiration to us all!

Coach David teaching Dennis how to do a donut in our Nissan 350z!

It is so unatural for most people to put their foot all the way to the floor when our staff ask them to do this, but once they get the hang of it, it's so fun to see the buzz that people get from it!

Love having people up to the track and giving them memories like this, Dennis, his wife and daughter were all up here on the track sending it, legends!

Rain, hail, snow or shine, our track is still running here at the Rally School.

Here is Dion from and Beanie in the Toyota GT86 on a slippy day having the craic out on the track.

The cars are all powerful so when it gets slippy out there, they can get very tail happy, doesn't seem to bother Beanie though!

We will regularly have people up who consider themselves nervous behind the wheel but once they get into the cars, get a few laps under their belt and have a laugh with the instructors, they're flying it round in no time.

One of the great pleasures of the job is to take someone who is nervous, and have them much more confident in themselves by the time they are finished on the track at the end of the day.

Without a doubt, the best thing about running a rally school here in Co. Monaghan, Ireland is the buzz that customers get from driving the cars.

We like to say that we provide driving experiences for everyone, and we mean everyone. Obviously if you're a petrol head, you will have a good time on the track but our instructors also love taking people who aren't typically into cars or are having their very first exposure to motorsport and get them flying around the track.

It hasn't been easy over 27 years but every time you see a customer getting out of the car with a big grin on their face, it's worth it!

A lot of people out there have never driven a manual car, let alone done any motorsport. Then when they get into the cars, the entire experience can make people quite nervous

Here is Coach David, helping a nervous customer get to grips with the clutch and changing the gears for her so she can have fun on the track (doing donuts five minutes later lol). So if you've never driven a manual before, don't let it put you off, visit us here in Ireland and our instructors will have you flying around the track in no time!

You love to see people overcoming their nerves like this, she killed it!

David coaching a customer in our new Ford Mustang, on a slipperyy Sunday morning here in Ireland. The Mustang packs a real punch and can be a bit temperamental until people get to grips with it.

We see it consistently with customers that once you start drifting or losing a bit of control on the track, customers will make a large movement with the wheel which only causes them to slide more. This applies not just to track driving but to real life driving on the road.

With exposure and practice, you see people using smaller movements which more delicately control the car. We regularly have customers comment that they visit us for a track experience but leave with skills that they can apply to their everyday life.

When people visit us here in Monaghan at the track, we strive to ensure what they leave with is a memory that they will carry for the rest of their lives.

When you're here in the morning and people are shouting up in the viewing tower as their friends are ripping around the track and the engines are roaring... It's beautiful to be able to provide a service like this that makes people so happy whenever they visit us.
