Workshop Manager – Toyota Dealership

Dermot Hughes Cars is an established Toyota dealership in Roscommon, and we are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced motor trade professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our busy workshop, leading a team while maintaining the high standards of workmanship and customer service associated with the Toyota brand.
The Role
As Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the workshop, maximising productivity and maintaining excellent standards of technical work, safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Toyota workshop.
• Lead, motivate and develop the workshop team.
• Allocate and manage workshop jobs to ensure an efficient workflow.
• Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency and job completion times.
• Ensure all servicing, maintenance and repairs are completed to the required manufacturer and dealership standards.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and carry out quality control checks.
• Assist technicians with complex technical and diagnostic issues where required.
• Liaise with customers regarding servicing, repairs and technical requirements.
• Work closely with the Service, Parts and Sales departments.
• Ensure warranty and manufacturer procedures are followed correctly.
• Monitor parts requirements and liaise with the Parts Department.
• Ensure the workshop operates in accordance with all health & safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all workshop processes are followed.
• Support ongoing training and development of workshop personnel.
• Contribute to achieving dealership targets and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
About You
• The successful candidate will ideally have:
• Previous experience as a Workshop Manager, Workshop Controller, Senior Technician or similar senior role in the motor trade.
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge.
• Experience working with modern diagnostic systems and vehicle technology.
• Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A professional approach and strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work effectively in a busy, customer-focused dealership environment.
• A full, clean driving licence.
• Relevant motor trade qualifications are an advantage.
