Welcome, August 🌾

As we welcome a new month, we also celebrate Lúnasa, the ancient Celtic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season.

Here , this is the time when our native wildflower meadow receives its annual mow. Throughout spring and summer, the meadow has been alive with colour, providing vital food and shelter for bees, butterflies, and countless other pollinators.

The harvested grass will become hay or silage, helping to feed animals through the autumn and winter months.

Why not take a stroll through the Strokestown Park estate this August and watch the colours of summer change to the beautiful colours of autumn 🍂🍁
