We get asked about EVs every day at Cummins Motor Group, so here are the answers to the four questions that come up most.

How far can I actually go?
The Opel EV range goes from 300km all the way up to 523km depending on the model, driving style and conditions. For the vast majority of daily driving, from the school run to the commute to Dublin and back, one charge covers you for days.

What if I run out?
Modern EVs give you plenty of warning before the battery runs low, with range estimates updating constantly on the dash. Ireland's public charging network has grown fast, with fast chargers now at most towns, retail parks and motorway services. Running out is rare, and it is easier to plan around than most people expect.

Can I charge at home overnight?
Yes. A home charger fitted at your house lets you plug in overnight and wake up to a full battery, just like charging your phone. Most EV owners rarely need to use public charging at all once a home charger is installed and this is the cheapest way to run your EV.

How much does charging cost versus petrol?
