Did you know? Emo Retail started as a Tomato Farm! 🍅
Originally trading as "Sunnyfresh Nurseries" in the West of Ireland, Emo Oil started as a company that only grew tomatoes.

During an oil crisis in the 1970s, they struggled to source oil to heat their plants, and began to collect waste oil, which mostly came from cars being serviced, as an alternative fuel source.

It soon became apparent that reprocessing oil like this offered more business potential than tomato farming, so "Sunnyfresh Nurseries" became "Atlas Oil"

In the 1980s, Atlas Oil started selling new oils as well as reprocessed waste oil.

To separate themselves from the public perception that all of the company's oil was still recycled waste oil, they decided to change names again, landing on Emo Oil.

The name "Emo" is taken from a small town in Co. Laois, and is one we take great pride in still using to this day to serve our loyal customer base.
We look forward to continuing to grow this story and continuing the Emo journey.
