Although motorways are statistically the safest way of moving large volumes of traffic, there are still risks to drivers who use them. To help you stay safe on the motorway, take these vehicle checks before setting off on your journey.
🛑 Familiarise yourself with rules of the road and motorway signage.
🚗 Ensure your vehicle is fit to carry out the journey at motorway speeds.
🚘 Check that your vehicle has the correct tyre pressure.
💧 Make sure your vehicle has enough oil and coolant.
⛽ Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel to at least take you to the next service station.
🔌 In the case of an electric vehicle ensure there is enough power to at least take you to the next charging station.
💶 If there are tolls on your journey always have the correct toll fare ready before you set off on your trip.
