Hi everyone, after a long break I am back up and running and taking bookings for lessons. As you can imagine driving lessons will be a bit different but together we will get through it. You will need to bring a face mask with you for lessons. I will be wearing a mask and sanitising the car before and after each lesson. There will be some more changes but we can talk about these at the time of booking. Get booking on 087 3253000

Hi Everyone, I have been in touch with most of my students since I stopped working on the 13th, but for anyone looking to book lessons, in light of the advice given by the government and the chief medical officer into the fast evolving Covid-19 situation, it has become impossible to practice social distancing in the confined space of a car. I like, most driving schools, have had to suspend all driving lessons until the 29th of March or until we are told it is safe to proceed with driving lessons. For those of you who have lessons booked with me I will contact you to rearrange the lesson as soon as things get back to normal. I would like to thank you for your support in these challenging times. Take care, Noel

Hi Folks,
Just came across the video clip below and said I would post it.
It just highlights the importance of always being aware of other road users. Even when you pass your test you are still learning all the time and you can't let your concentration go for a second.

This is an excerpt for thejournal.ie..''There were 189 traffic fatalities in 2013, up from 160 in 2012 – an increase of 17.5 per cent in just one year. Of these, almost exactly half – 95 – were drivers while 32 of the deaths were passengers.

Pedestrians accounted for 30 of the deaths, 27 were motorcyclists, and 5 of the people who died were cyclists.

January and August tied for the most fatal month on Ireland’s roads with 19 deaths each, followed by July with 18 fatalities.

It follows years of significant decline as a concerted effort by authorities saw a dramatic reduction in the number of traffic fatalities. By comparison, 279 people died on the roads just five years ago in 2008, which fell to 238 in 2009.

Gay Byrne, the head of the Road Safety Authority said Ireland has ‘dropped our guard’ when it comes to road deaths.

“As a result we have managed to kill 27 more people this year compared to last,” he said. “It’s a stark way to put it but it’s the truth. It represents a very worrying development and highlights the need for all road users to be more vigilant”.

According to shocking new figures released by the Road Safety Authority. In the first six months of 2012, 23% of drivers killed and 29% of passengers killed were not wearing seatbelts, at the time of the collision. The information is based on preliminary data supplied by An Garda Síochána. A worrying feature is the number of people who were not wearing a seatbelt and who were ejected from the vehicle. Wearing a seatbelt significantly increases your chance of survival and can reduce the severity of your injuries if involved in a collision. According to the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) in the UK around 2 out of 3 people will survive or have less serious injuries if they are wearing a seat belt.
