Got the oil leak from the oil housing/cooler sorted, all dry now 👌
While we had the car here, did the rear diff bushing, fresh diff oil and a bit of coding.

Also said we’d do things properly with the coolant — flushed and replaced it instead of just topping it up. Car was only serviced a few weeks ago so just a new oil filter and a small top-up to keep it right.

We pulled all the undertrays off and gave everything a proper clean too. The under-engine cover is being replaced as the old one was soaked in oil and starting to fall apart.

This is a very well looked after f10. Drives like it should at 320k km

For anyone who remembers, when the brakes were done last year it got everything — discs, pads, heat shields, accessories and fluid, crank shaft pulley and accessories, all genuine BMW parts 👍

Next up: gearbox oil + filter booked in for next week 🔧

ZF 8HP transmission service on a 2021 BMW G30. Undertray off. Old fluid out.

New ZF oil pan with integrated filter installed — torqued to factory spec.

ZF Lifeguard fluid in.

Engine running. Gears cycled. Oil moving through every clutch pack.

Final level set between 30 and 50 degrees Celsius — exactly where ZF wants it.

Result? Faster shifts. Less wear. Maximum transmission life.

owning a 330e and you have a recall on the starter motor? Don’t waste your time if your car has an engine management light in the dash related to starter motor. The recall is not about replacing the starter! ❗️❗️
Aged auxiliary battery can also lead to starter motor failure, therefore keep an eye on it and replace it in time if needed.

Siliconeator hits again. This bimmer had the timming chain done not long ago, customer complained about engine noise on start and on acceleration and knocking on front suspension.

After I diagnosed the engine noise on start the conclusion was bad engine mounts. See videos in comments.

Tracking rods gone too.

Oil filter was quite dry and full of silicone when removed. But no “sparkling shavings” ,luckily. Car will be assessed further and hopefully drivable in optimal condition after full repair is completed.

Service history updated
Fuel filter changed and fuel bleeding procedure done before starting engine.
New sump plug.
All torqued to spec.

The Apple CarPlay / Android Auto screen we install keeps the same audio quality as before, music streaming done through original bluetooth not AUX like all screens out there.

This is a f30 2017 that came from factory with 6.5” screen and was replaced with a 10.25”!

I had the pleasure to work on this beautiful example of bmw 8 series, loaded with almost all extra optionals you can think of and got one more, i installed ACE 3.0 front and rear.

The BMW Advanced Car Eye 3.0 has a high-resolution QHD camera on the windscreen which monitors the car whilst on the road and when parked. Smart sensors enable the cameras to record potentially dangerous traffic situations and attempted break-ins and property damage. Professionally installed and wired.
