Huge congrats to James Barry Motors brand ambassador Sharlene Mawdsley on her producing an amazing performance to win in Italy with a lifetime best time in 400m. We are delighted for her!

SHARLENE MAWSDLEY has powered to a sensational 400m victory at the Savona International Meeting in Italy today smashing her personal best in the process.

Making her first individual outdoor appearance of the season, the Tipperary sprinter clocked an impressive 50.52 seconds — eclipsing the previous lifetime best of 50.71 she recorded at the Paris Olympics.

Mawdsley produced a commanding performance to finish almost a full second clear of American Talitha Diggs, who crossed in 51.47, while Italy’s Eloisa Coiro placed third in 51.79. The winning time also set a new meeting record at the Continental Tour Bronze event.

The 27-year-old had already shown signs of superb form earlier this month when she unleashed a stunning 48.34-second final leg to guide Ireland’s women’s 4x400m relay team to repechage success at the World Relays in Botswana.
