Cooper Tire Wins Global 2018 GOOD DESIGN® Awards for Discoverer AT3™ Family of Tires

FINDLAY, Ohio, Dec. 20, 2018 – Cooper Tire announced today that its Discoverer AT3™ family of tires, which includes three distinct all-season, all terrain tires for SUVs and pick-up trucks, and its Discoverer True North™, a tire designed to provide strong grip and confident handling in winter weather, have earned 2018 GOOD DESIGN® awards from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies for their design excellence. The winning tires were selected from more than 900 entries spanning nearly 50 countries.

The GOOD DESIGN® award is one of the world’s most prestigious and longest-standing design award programs recognizing the most innovative and cutting-edge industrial, product and graphic designs produced around the world. The award is based on criteria including innovative design, new technologies, form, materials, construction, concept, function, utility, energy efficiency and sensitivity to the environment.

New Cooper Evolution Van tyre is built to last

MELKSHAM, UK, 12 December, 2018 – Cooper Tire Europe’s new Evolution Van tyre has been designed with the driver in mind. A durable tread compound for a long life span, excellent wet braking performance resulting in a B wet grip label, as well as a strong sidewall equipped with kerbing ribs to help reduce damage and premature wear, make the Cooper Evolution Van the perfect tyre for drivers and fleet managers.

The tyre is designed to deliver overall excellent value for money. Not only is it durable and strong, it offers low rolling resistance, so less fuel is used, making this latest addition to Cooper’s product range both economical and the tyre of choice for the smart van owner and fleet manager.

In terms of performance, the newly developed silica rich compound tread of this commercial van tyre offers stability when braking in wet conditions, and handling performance.

Another key feature of the Evolution Van tyre is its enhanced durable sidewall with protective kerbing ‘wear ribs’ which improve the longevity of the product. The depth of these kerbing ribs is 1.5mm, and a sidewall ‘buffer’ also helps to reduce premature wear and minimise kerbing damage.
