The Road Safety Authority have said that Leixlip Driving Test Centre is a temporary location.

Previous to this centre opening the learner drivers in Leixlip had 3 options for a driving test centre to sit their driving test.
- Mulhuddart is a 25 minute drive with a current wait time of 16 weeks.
-Tallaght is a 35 minute drive with a current wait time of 21 weeks.
- Naas is a 40 minute drive with a current wait time of 7 weeks.

We need a permanent driving test centre for Leixlip/ North Kildare.

📢 New Temporary Driving Test Centre Opening in Leixlip

From today, 1 September 2026, the RSA is operating a new temporary driving test centre at the Springfield Hotel, Leixlip.

The new centre provides customers with greater choice when booking a car driving test.

✅ New applicants can select Leixlip when applying online.
✅ Existing applicants can change their test centre through the MyRoadSafety portal.

Leixlip Driving Test Centre Springfield Hotel.

Turning right out of hotel car park and continue to merge out onto N4 Dublin direction. Taking exit 4 Lucan Village/ Adamstown watching for the bus lane, turning right at traffic lights making sure to divide up the road and not turning in too early.

Leixlip Driving Test Centre Springfield Hotel.

Turning left out of Leixlip Springfield Hotel car park onto R148 towards Leixlip village and taking a right turn up Captains Hill R149. Divide up the road when turning right up Captains Hill and be careful not to obstruct the junction if you have to Stop.

As part of Essential Driver Training (EDT) practice between driving lessons is required to build up driving experience, a minimum of 36 hours.

To be ready for your driving test a recommended 48 hours of driving is required. From research this will also reduce your collision rate after passing your driving test by 21% in your first year of driving post test.
