Oíche Domhnaigh ar leith agam aréir leis an mBuggy!
I took a spin into town yesterday for a few hours meeting buddies and mostly enjoying the good weather.
It was getting late and dark so I headed towards home.
All was going well until I hit Knocknacarra when...
GO TOBANN!
The accelerator pedal hit the floor faster than an overweight dachshund going into cardiac arrest.
Right... what now.
I jumped out and had a gander and discovered the top had come off the business end of the accelerator cable and was finito.
The biggest irony being, I had replaced said cable only months before to avert this that was unfolding before me.
*Facepalm*
As, what seemed like, the majority of rerouted Galway traffic drove past, including one Tommy Tiernan,
I took a moment...
'How long would the walk home take?'
'Why did I need a again?'
'I wonder did Tommy have a tow rope?'
I collected myself, put away the 'for sale' sign and pushed/pulled the car off the road.
I considered soliciting a passer by to manually work the acceleration from the rear seat but I wasn't really in the mood for small talk with a random .
'Think Eoghan', I thought.
All I needed was a touch of rope.
THEN IT HIT ME!
I had an abundant amount of AUX cable that I had bought from Tiger months before for the !
The same AUX cable I had cursed countless times for being so long and .
Never. Again.
I fettled with it for what seemed like an age for someone with undiagnosed ADHD.
In the end I decided to tie it to the and did a trial run.
After an inordinate amount of revving for the calibre of residential area we were in !
Now overall this fix was as reliable as a chocolate stint but sure she only had 26 miles to do! Feasible!
Now with only four-ish stops on the way to make sure everything was still dandy in the back I MADE IT!!!
The moral of this story is as follows:
-Keep an excessively long AUX cable handy in your car for emergencies.
-If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
