Spot n Dots on your tyres.... What does it mean?

Yellow Dot:
This indicates on premium tyres the lightest part of the tyre. Ideally you align the yellow dot to the valve hole or valve stem which is generally the heaviest part of the rim. This means less balance weights needed to achieve a perfect match.

Red Spot:
This generally indicates the highest points Radial Force Variation (RFV) or the stiffest part of the tyre due to manufacturing overlap etc. Ideally align the red Spot to the corresponding point on the rim if marked or opposite the valve stem hole if not.
The Red Spot takes precedence.

The premium tyres manufacturers rarely need to use this anymore as their manufacturing tolerances are so tight now.
Michelin 2 wheel carry no spots or dots on their racetyres.
