Some driving test tips on the day of your test.
Some points to note when attending for test.
Have your accompanying driver with you. Please note your driving instructor on the day may act as this companion.
Have your learner permit with you.
L plates must be clearly visable to front and rear and not faded.
All brakes light must be working and not warning lights displayed on the instrument panel.
Tyres should be correctly inflated and have no rips tears or bulges.
Insurance disc must have the green strip attached.
Tax must be up to date and NCT also unless 4 month extension applies.
Learner permit must be at least 6 months old. Please note the RSA will still accept your fee where the permit may not be fully 6 months and will issue you a date however the examiner will refuse to test you and you will have to pay again.
The horn must be audible. So please check that it works.
Know the location of bonnet opening as some can be tricky.
Wear warm clothes as windows will be wound down to the front full way and half way to the rear even on a rainy day.
Have your phone fully charged and look out for a private withheld number around the time of your test.
Please note if you don not recieve a call 2 minutes after your alloted time do approach the doors and ask for assistance. As anymore time than this your test will be forfeited and you will have to pay again.
Make sure blocked numbers are not banned from ringing you.
Cleaned your car inside and out and have nothing in the door pockets or lying on the back seat.Cleanliness of vehicles is key at this time.
Pay attention to glass visability also.
Use a loo before you set off that morning as you may only have access to a loo right before your test when the examiner invites you into the building and not before then.
My thoughts.
Drive in a safe and sensible mannor.Make the examiner feel comfortable. You have to convince them that you don't need assistance and can drive comfortablely on your own.
And lastly.
Smile and enjoy the experience.
