Introduced in 1991, the Bentley Continental R marked a pivotal moment in the marques modern history. As the first Bentley since the 1960s to feature unique coachwork distinct from its Rolls-Royce counterpart, it re-established Bentley as a manufacturer of exclusive, driver-focused grand touring cars. Hand-built at Crewe and produced in limited numbers, the Continental R was the fastest, most powerful and most expensive Bentley of its era, becoming an instant flagship for the revitalised marque.
This particular example, finished in the elegant and highly desirable shade of Masons Black with black leather. polished black Piano wood and black sheepskin overmats over black Wilton carpet is one of only 101 right-hand-drive cars produced during the 1994 model year, from a total annual production of just 251 examples. Across the entire Continental R production run, only 1,236 cars were built, underlining the exclusivity of Bentleys hand-crafted grand tourer.
