Billy Hughes passed away last night.

Born in Cabra in 1937, he was 88 in May.

During the Cabaret boom of the 70s, he was resident MC in The Drake Inn. He introduced many international entertainers onto the hallowed stage including Matt Munro, The Searchers, Guy Mitchell, Frankie Laine and Frank Ifield.

He spent 13 years in Lanzarote entertaining the travelling public, returning to his old circuit in Dublin in 2017. He was resident on Mondays in The Shamrock Lodge in Finglas.

May he rest in peace.

It is with great sadness we hear of the passing of Paddy Davis. Paddy will always be remembered as a gentleman

How time flies by. Feb 21 2011 , management gathered us together to tell us the plant was to close.
For 50 years the plant had been the flagship of the industry.
Staff , industrious, professional and an amazing team. New procedures in health & Safety, ergonomics , production, maintenance and management taken on and implemented to the highest standards every time.
Banter was on par with the finest episodes of “ have I got news for you” or other similar productions.
Even on the darkest winters night shift at 4am banter could be found on one side of the canteen while others quietly read their papers a few feet away. Some times the headi popping up to join in or laugh along.
I miss it, I miss the people and a little bit of me misses the routine.
