Dear Friend, This year the
Blackchurch Racing Association,
Joe O’Neill Run,
will be held on Saturday / Sunday the
25th / 26th October2025, and will be based in
Lough Bawn Hotel, Killeshandra,
Co. Cavan. H12ET32
(NB some hardy annuals will arrive on Friday afternoon to have a short spin around the lakes)
All motorcyclists welcome on any machine over 20 years old, although if you arrive on a Rudge it is mandatory for the chairman to buy you a glass of lemonade.
Routes have been carefully chosen for Saturday and Sunday to take riders across the beautiful sunny Cavan and Leitrim countryside, passing through (and occasionally stopping for refreshment anywhere that will let us in), (this will be advised on the morning of the run) some of its charming villages. This run will be a memorable highlight for 2025 and a wonderful way to end the motorcycling calendar year.

Saturday & Sunday 24th / 25th May 2025
HQ: Reddans Bar and B&B Coast Road, Bettystown

NB: The event is open all Motorcycles pre-2000
Rudges are especially welcome.

Three routes are prepared, and checking is in progress:
Route 1. Sat Morning 60 Miles approximately.
Start time 11:00 Saturday Morning: Redans Bar to Carlingford Marina – Arrive 2pm for lunch in Rabelo at Carlingford Marina – bike parking available.
Route 2. Sat Afternoon 50 Miles approximately.
Start Time 3:00 Saturday Afternoon: Carlingford Marina to Redans Bar – Arrive in Reddans before 6pm.
There will be dinner and blaaa…… in Reddans Bar.
Route 3. Sunday Morning 50 Miles approximately.
Start Time 10:30 Sunday Morning: Reddans Bar to Skryne (J. O’Connell Pub) – returning to Reddans Bar before 3pm.
Some of Saturday morning’s run will be in Northern Ireland. The route does not take in the village of Carlingford as it is “MAD BUSY” on weekends. Carlingford Marina is north of Carlingford and will be approached from the north. The departure will be to the north also.

Start and finish times are designed to suit day trippers who do not wish to overnight.

It is with sadness that I have to inform you that a member of our club Frank Byrne has passed away.
Frank was an avid classic and vintage motorcyclist with a wealth of knowledge.
Reposing at Fitzgerald Funeral Directors, Rush, on Friday (29th) evening from 5pm-7pm. A funeral service to celebrate Frank’s life will take place on Saturday morning at 10:30am in Dardistown Crematorium,
Condolences to his family and may he rest in peace
