Job Opportunity for an Experienced Mechanic

Monday - Friday 9.30am - 5.30pm
No Weekends or Bank Holidays
Based in Letterkenny

Experience Essential (minimum 2 years in a similar role)

This role will involve working primarily on all aspects of Engine Reconditioning so a good knowledge of engine components is expected.

Must have a good knowledge of all vehicle types, and must be able to work independently to a high standard.

- Confidently carry out repairs

Recent job we did on a 2018 land rover discovery sport.
It was left in with a very bad rattle which turned out to be the timing chain. Unfortunately in these vehicles the timing chain is at the back of the engine meaning the gearbox must be removed to gain access to it.
Both upper and lower chains were replaced including all guides tensioners gaskets and seals, plus new oil and filter.

Recent job where a cylinder head gasket failed on a customers car.
People often hear that term but don't really understand what it means.
The easiest explanation is, a cylinder head gasket is used to keep all the fluids and gasses in the engine separate, when it fails they mix and its a fairly major repair in most cases.
In this case, the gasket failed and let the cylinder gasses into the coolant causing pressure in the cooling system and overheating.
After the head was removed it was resurfaced using our machine and a new gasket water pump and thermostat fitted.
