Information just received from RSA regarding driving tests.

Please note that as and from Monday 17th of January, driving test candidates will be asked to confirm they have taken an antigen test within 24 hours of the test and that it was negative before their driving test proceeds. If no antigen test was taken or if there was a positive result the driving test will not be conducted and candidates will be given another driving test invitation free of charge. Driving test candidates have been advised of this requirement. For more information please see the RSA website. www.rsa.ie

From the 10th of May essential workers can commence EDT lessons. The following is the email received from the RSA. A declaration form has to be completed and forwarded by email to your driving instructor. Alternatively, a hard copy can be presented to the instructor before the lesson.

Latest information from RSA about EDT lessons. Instructors are still only allowed give lessons to people with proof of a test date until level 5 restrictions are lifted. Very frustrating for everyone involved.

Sorry lads. This is the latest news from RSA. Testing is cancelled in Midleton.

Starting on November 4th 2020, a temporary driving test centre will be opened by the RSA. This centre will be at Midleton Park Hotel, Old Cork Road, Midleton, Co Cork, P25 AX67 and is opening to help deal with the driving test backlog.

Please check which centre you will be doing your test at, when you get notification of your test date.

All candidates presenting for driving test will receive a call from the Driver Tester in advance of their driving test. Driver Testers will conduct pre-test introductions with Customers over the phone, via the mobile phone number provided in test applications; applicants should be ready and expect this call from the Driver Tester. Driving Test candidates must remain in their vehicle until the Driver Tester contacts them by mobile phone.

If you have applied or intend to apply for your driving test, log on to www.rsa.ie and click the My EDT section. There you can check if your lessons are loaded up. If the 12 lessons are not loaded, you won't receive a test date.

Scam Warning – National Driver Licence Service (NDLS)

An Garda Síochána and the Road Safety Authority Ireland would like make the public aware of a scam which has been reported to Gardaí.

A fraudulent page purposing to be the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) is inviting people to contact them via WhatsApp to apply for or renew their driving licence. They are then seeking payment of over €200.

This is a scam to part people with their money. The NDLS does not have any official social media pages. The only way to contact the NDLS is through the official RSA social media pages or online through www.rsa.ie or www.ndls.ie.

This fraudulent page has been reported to Facebook Ireland to be removed. An Garda Síochána Investigations are ongoing.

The Road Safety Authority has contacted us to say that all driving tests are cancelled from this evening until 29th of March. Updates will continue if anything changes before then.

Christmas time again! Driving lessons make a great present at this time of year. There is a mandatory 12 lesson course needed by people learning to drive.
An offer of €350 (including log book) is available for these lessons at the moment. This offer will finish on 22nd of December and will not be renewed for the foreseeable future. If interested, contact through private message please.

(Individual lessons are €35 and pre-test lessons in your own car are €30)

The Road Safety Authority has asked people not to use any website offering to book lessons with individual driving instructors. These sites have a list of driving schools taken from the RSA list of instructors and do not represent the schools named.
For instance, one website asks for a fee of €9.99 to book lessons for you and says this fee will be refunded by the relevent instructor.
This is a bogus operation as no lessons are booked and you lose your fee.
Only book lessons through the individual driving schools information, offered on their own websites/social media pages or telephone numbers.
