Back again with our weekly maintenance tips. This week its those shakes & rattles we all find frustrating when out on the road. Periodically check for bearing play in your headset, hubs, and cranks. To check your headset, squeeze the front brake and rock your bike forward & backward. For wheel and crank bearings, pull the wheel or crank side to side. If you feel a wiggle, your component needs an adjustment. Don’t ignore it, or the problem will get bigger and more expensive.

****** Tuesday Maintenance Tip ******

Want to improve your shifting dramatically in 10 seconds? Bottom bracket cables guides need some attention also. Otherwise it gets gummy from your sports drink and crusty from road grime, both of which contribute to the evil friction that disrupts the flow of a precise cable adjustment.

Drip a couple of drops of oil on it every time you l**e your chain and you will see a big improvement in your shifting. Don't forget to clean it before applying the l**e.
