A great look back at UZS 987, formerly with Shanahans and later operating with Meadowsfreight Ireland Ltd., headquartered in Swords, Dublin.

Pictured here loading in France, this photo is a brilliant reminder of the Irish trucks and drivers that spent their working lives travelling across Europe. International haulage meant long journeys and countless miles, with trucks like this becoming a familiar sight far beyond Irish roads.

Photos like these give us a glimpse back at an important era in Irish road transport and the fleets that kept goods moving between Ireland and mainland Europe.
