π¨ Important Update for Learner Drivers β From 9 March 2026 π¨
If you have a driving test booked, please read carefully.
From 9 March 2026, all learner drivers must provide proof that they are insured to drive the vehicle they are using for their driving test. This proof must be shown to the tester on the day of your test.
β
What you need to bring:
β’ A certificate of insurance showing you are named as a covered driver, or
β’ If you are not named on the certificate, a letter/email (on headed paper) from the insurance company confirming:
β You are covered
β The vehicle registration
β The date of your test
β’ If using your instructorβs car, the appropriate insurance certificate must be available showing the vehicle is insured for driving tests (and a headed letter if this is not clearly stated).
β οΈ Important:
If you cannot provide acceptable proof of insurance on the day, your test will not go ahead and you will lose your test fee.
Please make sure you have this organised well in advance of your test date to avoid disappointment.
If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
