Due to current fuel costs price varies depending on the area with local areas around Macroom being discounted. Prices were increased in Jan 2022 but there has been no increase since despite escalating pump prices, there is however a wait time to start that varies depending on the area. To combat fuel costs and help the environment by limiting travel I cover different areas on different days. Joanna Clarke's School of Motoring provides a dual controlled car for pupils to take their lessons in and this car is also available for students to hire for taking their test. Pupils may also take lessons in their own car once they are deemed to have sufficient experience. Drivers of all ages and levels of experience are welcome. From time to time you may be able to avail of discounts when taking lessons with Joanna Clarke School of Motoring for more information just call Joanna. Beginner and nervous drivers are very welcome; remember everyone needs to learn and Joanna Clarke School of Motoring is here to help. In addition to standard driving lessons, Joanna Clarke School of Motoring offer the EDT driving course, pre-test and a mock driving test lessons. PLEASE NOTE that you must hold a learner permit to take any driving lessons on public roads. Joanna is very familiar with the driving test, EDT and standards set down by the Road Safety Authority.

Changes to Learner Permit renewals - Here’s what you need to know:

🟢Obtaining a 3rd Permit:

Must have sat a driving test in the past 2 years

🟡Obtaining a 4th Permit:

Must have sat a driving test in the past 2 years

Valid for 1 year only

🔴Obtaining a Permit (After 7+ years holding a Learner Permit):

Retake the Driver Theory Test

Apply for a new Learner Permit

Complete EDT (12 lessons) or IBT (16–18 hrs for motorbikes) before your next *driving test

*Can’t sit driving test until you have held the learner permit for 6 months.
