U14 girls : Portlaoise 2-4 HBC
SFAI trophy.

HBC Girls travelled to Portlaoise today for an SFAI trophy fixture. Switched on from the start our girls came up with a flying start and raced into an early 2-0 lead. The goals were shared between our two forwards Sadbh McCauley and Alannah Quirke. Assisted by Laura Stanley and Sarah Carberry.
Sadbh went on to complete a Hatrick
before half time leaving that score at the break 4-0. Indeed we were unlucky not to be further ahead at half time.

In the second half it was apparent that the Halloween festivities came into affect and we tired significantly. This allowed the home team back into the game. After twenty minutes of the second half the score was 4-2. From that point on Portlaoise were unlucky not to add to their score, spurning an opportunity from the spot and also kept at bay by a wonderful save by Lilly Brennan in the HBC goal.
The result was definitely deserved on the day. The team performance as a whole was much better today and the player of the match has to go to our captain Sadbh McCauley. Her three goal haul was much deserved due to her wonderful work ethic on the day.
Well done all.
