2025 has started off very very busy on the ev and hybrid repairs, with all different makes and models. 🏎️⚡️

This leaf came to us as a non runner and insulation faults in the high voltage system.
We carried out our assessment and narrowed it down to failed cells in the main battery.

We managed to locate used cells to match, balanced and replaced them to get it back on the road

We express our huge thanks to John Earls Motors for their amazing generosity, in donating a car to our school community, as part of the school’s Transition Year Motor Technology & Maintenance module!

Our TYs will be hugely fortunate to have this car on campus to gain more practical knowledge on all things four wheels!

Nissan Leaf EV not charging or driving repair.

This Leaf came to us it wouldn’t start or charge.
Having been frightened elsewhere with pricing and an uncertain diagnosis, we really wanted to get it in and get it diagnosed properly to put the customer at ease.
As soon as we started our testing we uncovered a massive internal thermal event inside the PDM (charging) unit.
Unfortunately due to the massive surge this caused the main fuse inside the HV battery and some relays were also damaged.
We were able to eventually source, test, upgrade and fit parts to get the car back on the road.
A challenging but satisfying repair 💪

Some Before, during and after snaps of a diesel engine, in for an intake walnut blasting and manifold carbon cleaning.
This makes a massive difference to fuel economy and power delivery.
Some of them you would wonder how the engine runs at all.

Walnut blasting available for both Diesel and Petrol!!!

This week we got to spend a day training with ZF transmissions.
We got some great in dept insights and some really useful service and diagnostic tips.

Another one gone back up the country!

This Ioniq came in for us to diagnose and we found a fault deep inside its EPCU.
Unfortunately there was no way to repair the old one just yet.

The usual thing a new replacement part is mad money 💷💷💷.
Not only that they are programmed to the car so most say you can’t fit a used part.

Luckily we were able source one and isolate the chips that contained the all important immobiliser data, we carefully swap them over to get the car up and running again.

An enjoyable fix and another happy customer

Last headache for this week!!!

This Audi came to us water damaged ecu and a matching replacement one to be coded.

Unfortunately when we went about coding it in we found that the immo data on both ecus had been corrupted and could not be programmed. 🤦🏻

Luckily our friends in RADE-Remote Assisted Diagnostics Expert were on hand and when we sent them over the files they were able to get the decode the data from them and then remotely program them in through the rade tool.

It meant the car was out the door and we weren’t starting Monday with last weeks problems.
