The Chairman of the Bali Villa Association, I Putu Gede Hendrawan, has spoken up on behalf of local communities, tourism business owners, and tourists themselves.

Hendrawan noted that despite years worth of discussion, seminars, expert studies, and even project proposals, there has yet to be a single impactful solution to the traffic congestion in Bali. He explained that the tourism sector is at risk if nothing is done soon.

He said that although the number of tourists on the island right now is something to be grateful for in the wake of the pandemic, serious and urgent action must be taken to tackle the road infrastructure on the island.

Hendrawan said, “Talking about quality tourism must come from two sides, both the tourists and the tourism products.” He was speaking about a recent announcement from political leaders who want to promote higher-quality tourism in Bali by encouraging higher quality (and higher spending) tourists on vacation.
He pointed out that the quality of a destination’s tourism offering is about more than the luxurious nature of accommodation. Quality public infrastructure plays a less sexy but essential role in establishing quality tourism.

The Bali Sun today reports "LEADERS ARE SURPRISED BY SUDDEN DECREASE IN BALI'S AIR QUALITY."
Just a wild guess - could it possibly be due to the huge increase in cars (and trucks) on the roads following Governor Kosters new Proposal to ban tourists riding little Scooters!

It’s been a while I didn’t posted anything about the rentals, it’s been upside down because of the regulations the Governor Koster made…so confusing people, the truth is YES you still can rent a bike as long as you respect the culture in Bali, renting from Legal rental bike company riding safe have licence and wear helmet..so Enjoy your time while you are here and always be safe guys 🙌😉

Hi guys, my wife and I own a scooter rental business in Bali that is suffering – worse than in Covid!
In March of this year local Government ‘proposed’ banning private scooter rental.
However, confusing press articles have made it look like a complete ban on all rentals. We have customers in Europe where their Travel Agents are saying you cannot rent a bike in Bali anymore. WRONG.
The repercussions now show Bali roads totally congested with cars and gridlocked in multiple places all over Bali. Tempers are fraying and most importantly we see signs many tourists are thinking twice about coming to Bali at all!
You CAN rent a bike from a registered PT. (Company) that is licensed to rent out vehicles. A valid driving license is of course required, wear a helmet at all times and respect the cultural heritage of Bali.
Like many businesses here in Bali we are completely legal and registered through our PT. and pay taxes every month.
All we want is a fair, level playing field to recover from Covid, not be cast back into the dark days with many businesses going under, again!

Bali is open for business.
YES riders, you can rent a scooter from us.
We are fully compliant through our registered PT (Company) and pay taxes every month.
There is a lot of confusion around the proposed changes to the bike rental market here in Bali. We are sorry for this and it is hurting many small businesses here - worse than covid!
So book your ticket and come to Bali for a good time. Bring your drivers license and when here wear a helmet at all times.
Also please respect local traditions at the heart of Bali.
We will make your time in Bali enjoyable.

YOU CAN STILL LEGALLY RENT BIKES FROM LEGITIMATE, REGISTERED RENTAL COMPANIES – LIKE OURS!
