This Ferrari F430 was brought to Vintage Vehicle Mechanic with a clear brief: source and fit a full set of carbon-fibre interior and detail parts to the highest standard.
Working to the owner’s specification, we sourced the carbon components piece by piece — centre console and F1 control panel, gear-gate surround, steering-column shroud, dashboard vents, door sills, and matching cabin trim. The same approach was taken in the engine bay and on selected exterior details, including carbon airbox covers, filler caps, rear slats, fuel-filler door and diffuser finishes.
Each part was carefully checked for fit and finish before installation, so the cabin and engine bay present as a complete, coherent specification rather than a collection of unrelated pieces. The result is a sharper, more focused F430 that still reads as a properly finished Ferrari, not an afterthought modification.

This BMW E30 M3 Evolution II was booked into Vintage Vehicle Mechanic for a thorough chassis and cooling-system refresh.
We renewed the front and rear anti-roll bar links, together with the front sway-bar bushings and brackets and the rear stabilizer mountings. The front struts were removed as a pair so that new strut mounts, bump stops, protection tubes and covers could be fitted correctly, with the springs compressed and reassembled to the proper specification.
Fresh engine and gearbox mounts were installed to restore driveline stability and reduce unwanted movement through the chassis. The exhaust system was also attended to, with new rubber rings and a rear silencer mounting fitted to eliminate vibration and sag.
A more involved part of the job concerned the cooling fans. Following the fuse diagram, we modified the coolant temperature switches, fitted a new relay and renewed sections of wiring so the fans operate reliably. Steering fluid hoses were replaced at the same time.
The result is an Evo II that feels tighter, quieter and more dependable — exactly what a car of this rarity deserves. Work of this kind reflects the detailed mechanical and electrical attention we give to E30 M3s.

This Porsche 968 recently visited Vintage Vehicle Mechanic for a scheduled service and MOT preparation.
We carried out a fresh engine oil change using the correct specification oil, together with a new air filter. These routine items are especially important on the 968, whose 3.0-litre four-cylinder engine rewards careful maintenance with the smooth, linear performance it is known for.
The car was then inspected and prepared for MOT, covering the usual safety, lighting, braking and emissions checks so it can continue to be used with confidence on Hong Kong roads.

This Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG was booked into Vintage Vehicle Mechanic for a full service and targeted mechanical work.
We completed a comprehensive fluid service using the correct specifications: engine oil, transfer-case oil, Mercedes-Benz automatic transmission fluid and supercharger oil. The air filter was replaced at the same time, together with a new front bonnet strut.
Further attention was given to two important components. The flywheel sensor was replaced to restore accurate engine and transmission signalling, and the fuel filter was renewed to maintain clean fuel delivery.
The most involved part of the job was the transfer-case control unit. This was fully diagnosed, reset and tested to confirm correct operation of the four-wheel-drive system — essential on a G-Class if the vehicle is to remain reliable both on the road and off it.
With the service and repairs complete, the G55 is now running as it should: properly lubricated, correctly diagnosed and ready for continued use.
Work of this nature reflects the specialist approach we take with AMG G-Class models, combining routine servicing with precise electronic and mechanical diagnosis.

This Jaguar convertible was brought to Vintage Vehicle Mechanic after the owner reported that the folding roof would not operate and that the cooling system was leaking.
Access to the roof mechanism required the removal of the rear seats and interior panels. With the roof compartment exposed, the fault was identified and rectified. The window system was repaired and the roof mechanism restored to full working order, allowing it to open and close correctly.
The cooling system was then pressure-tested to confirm the source of the leak. The affected hoses were replaced, together with a new coolant reservoir. The system was refilled, bled and re-tested to ensure it holds pressure and operates at the correct temperature.
In addition, a full annual service was completed and the vehicle was prepared for MOT, covering the required fluid, filter and safety inspections.
This work reflects the standard of care we apply to Jaguar convertibles: methodical diagnosis, proper access to hidden systems, and a complete return to reliable operation rather than a temporary repair.

The Maserati Khamsin is one of the rarest and most distinctive grand tourers of the 1970s. Designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone and produced between 1974 and 1982, only around 430 examples were ever built. Named after a fierce desert wind, this elegant front-engined V8 coupe combined Italian performance with advanced Citroën-derived hydraulic systems for the suspension, brakes and headlights — making surviving examples both scarce and highly sought after today.
This particular Khamsin recently arrived at Vintage Vehicle Mechanic for specialist attention. The car came in with a hydraulic leak, along with a request to clean the interior and restore the dashboard.
The Khamsin’s complex hydraulic system powers the adjustable shocks, brakes and headlights, so any leak requires careful diagnosis and precise work. Our technicians spent four full days identifying the issues, re-packing the oil-based booster, replacing the valve seals and shock seals, and thoroughly testing every function. We then bled the entire hydraulic circuit for the brakes and headlights to ensure consistent pressure and reliable operation, using fresh LHM fluid throughout.
In parallel, the dashboard was carefully restored using material supplied by the owner, returning the cabin to a clean and original appearance. Two complete services were also carried out so the car left the workshop fully prepared.
Working on a Maserati Khamsin demands experience with both classic Italian engineering and these specialised hydraulic systems. Every step was completed to a high standard so the car drives and feels as it should.

Significant progress continues on our latest Ferrari F430 restoration at Vintage Vehicle Mechanic.

We have successfully removed the steering rack for a complete rebuild, restoring precise steering feel and eliminating any wear or play. In addition, we installed a full set of new front and rear control arms along with all associated Flanblock bushings. Every component was precisely fitted by our experienced specialist technicians.
This comprehensive suspension and steering refresh restores original handling sharpness, stability, and driver feedback, ensuring the F430 delivers the exceptional dynamics it is renowned for. All work has been carried out to the highest standards using quality components suitable for this iconic supercar.
