SPPC Donates $7,600 and Emergency Supplies to Support Rota Following Super Typhoon Bavi
TAMUNING, Guam — July 9, 2026 — In the aftermath of Super Typhoon Bavi, South Pacific Petroleum Corporation (SPPC) extended a helping hand to our neighbors in Rota through a $7,600 donation to the Ayuda Foundation, along with several pallets of bottled water for families and residents affected by the storm.
The $7,600 contribution was presented to 38th Guam Legislature Senator and Speaker Frank F. Blas, Jr., a member of the Ayuda Foundation Board of Directors. The donation helped support the foundation’s ongoing relief efforts and provided resources that could be directed toward the immediate needs of Rota residents as the community began its recovery.
In the days following the typhoon, many residents faced damaged infrastructure, disrupted utilities, and limited access to necessities. Recognizing these urgent needs, SPPC partnered with the Ayuda Foundation to ensure that assistance reached those who needed it most. The company's donation helped fund relief efforts, including the distribution of essential supplies and resources to affected families, while the bottled water provided immediate access to safe drinking water during the recovery period.
Getting the bottled water to Rota was another important part of the effort. After working to find a way to transport the several pallets of water, SPPC was grateful to finally secure transportation through the “ChamorritA,” owned by Edward and Joy Poppe.The water was loaded and transported by boat to help provide Rota families with one of the most basic and essential necessities following the typhoon. The support of the Poppe family made it possible for the donated water to reach our neighbors across the channel when it was needed most.

The check presentation featured Senator and Speaker Frank F. Blas, Jr. and Mark J. Sablan. Also supporting the effort was Carlotta Leon Guerrero, Executive Director of the Ayuda Foundation.
