As works continue on the refurbishment of our Base Station, we're uncovering some of the features that give this area its identity.

During excavation, the red sand beneath the surface has become visible, an important reminder of the history behind the name “Red Sands Road”. 🌍🔴

Our team continues to make strong progress on site as we move through the next phases of the project, bringing us closer to delivering an enhanced Cable Car experience for Gibraltar. 🚠✨

Exciting progress continues on the Gibraltar Cable Car redevelopment as another major milestone has been reached! 👏

With the excavation works now complete, construction has moved into its next phase. The foundations are being laid and structural works for the new Base Station are now well underway, bringing the project one step closer to reality. 🔨

It was great to be on site this week for a comprehensive tour of the ongoing Cable Car refurbishment works and to see first-hand how the project is progressing. 👷‍♂️

A big thank you to Dennis Pederson (ANS) and Pedro Alexandre Batista Antunes da Silva (Casais) for providing an update on the latest developments, from the rock cutting and excavation works at the Top Station to the first concrete pour for the foundations of the new Lower Station. 🏗️

It's exciting to see the transformation moving from plans into reality, with each milestone bringing us closer to the future of the Gibraltar Cable Car. 🚠✨

👋 Farewell Base Station 🫡

A major milestone for the new Gibraltar Cable Car. 🚠

Our team has officially demolished the Base Station as we move into the next phase of our redevelopment project. It’s the end of one chapter and the beginning of something exciting. 🔧✨

This operation required careful planning, precision and strict safety coordination to ensure everything was carried out smoothly.

Controlled de-roping operation 🚠

With the cabins already removed, specialist teams alongside Garaventa AG are now carrying out the controlled de-roping of the system. This highly planned operation is a key step in the demolition works, ensuring everything is done with precision, safety and expert care as we prepare for an exciting new chapter.
