Hi everyone, We have received a message from a Fisher 37 owner with a question about additional fuel capacity. Any replies would be very much appreciated. Cheers.

I’ve recently purchased an F37 & plan on some long-distance northern waters sailing.
But I don’t think it holds enough fuel about 480ltr I understand ?? Has anyone converted the stainless steel water tank that’s under the saloon floor to another 480 ltr fuel tank ? & have they added another smaller water tank elsewhere for the shower, etc.
I’ve looked under the double berth & estimate I could get a 125 ltr ready-made water tank in there & could carry bottled water for drinking & emergencies.
I would use the tank underneath the saloon floor as a fuel holding tank & pump up to the main service tank aft.
Thoughts appreciated

Fisher 25 “Western Flyer” year 1982 ketch rig + spinnaker, Yanmar 3GM30F, calorifier hot water to galley and heads, plumbed and wired for cabin heating, Webasto diesel heater out of commission and removed. Mains electricity with 2.5 kW Victron inverter/charger.
New heads plumbing and pump upgrade.
Insulated headlining to hull and deckhead in the forward cabin.
Garmin 2006 GPS with charts. Radar unit and passive reflector.
Raymarine wind and depth gauge. AIS
Liferaft.
Cruised successfully for several seasons from Glasson Dock to Inverness via two canals, north as far as Lochinver and south as far as Falmouth.
