We've officially joined The Great Guernsey Pen Challenge - £50,000 for Margo's Marvellous Mind and swapped some children's toys for this fantastic four-colour BIC pen.

🔴 Red. ⚫ Black. 🟢 Green. 🔵 Blue.

Four colours... endless possibilities! ✍️

If you haven't seen the challenge yet, it's brilliantly simple. Richard Vahey started with just one pen and is trading it for bigger and better items, one swap at a time, with the goal of reaching £50,000 for the local charity Margo's Marvellous Mind. Every trade brings the challenge one step closer to that incredible target. 💜

We're delighted to have played a small part by swapping our children's toys for the pen. Now it's the toys' turn to continue the journey and become the next exciting trade!

⛔ Car Park closing for the day

ℹ Continued cleaning and clearing of drains to improve drainage

Last month, we permitted North Beach car park to close for States Works to clear the gullies and drains on behalf of Guernsey Harbours.

There are six drainage channels that each run the full length of the car park. The plan was to clear all these in one day, but the debris in the drains was so hardpacked and difficult to remove that there are still four of the six left to clean this Sunday.

These works have again been scheduled on the quietest day of the week to minimise disruption.

If you regularly park on North Beach, please make sure you have moved your car well before 7.30am on Sunday morning. Any cars which haven't been moved will need to be removed at the owner's expense.

The car park is expected to reopen after 5pm on Sunday.

🎄🚜🌟 The Guernsey Christmas Tractor Run is nearly here! Gathering at Les Beaucamps School from 5:15pm tomorrow (Saturday 13th) the tractor cavalcade will be setting off at 6:15pm for their round island route.

🚦New Traffic flow system for this year:
If you are coming for a closer look at the tractors at the static display, please note:

ℹ️ Entering: School parking traffic will be diverted around to the one way lane which comes up from the Ruette des Delisles (opposite Delisles Chapel).

ℹ️ Exiting: Traffic will be diverted out the exit gate of the carpark onto Les Beaucamps road where you can then exit left/right.

This traffic flow system will let the tractors arrive from Rue des Eturs junction into Les Beaucamps Road and ease congestion of vehicles entering and exiting one gateway. Parking is limited, so if you can please share cars, ride your bikes or walk.

The States of Guernsey are delighted to support the Guernsey Christmas Tractor Run again this year. Thank you to the wonderful team that organise this fantastic event and to all the tractor drivers for spreading the joy this Christmas!
