Electric limit

Our CEO Keith Hounsell spoke to BBC Channel Island news about the increase in usage of charge points and how that impacts the local electricity supply.

As more of us switch to electric cars there will be a need for further investment in the network to cope with the demand.

Guernsey Electricity Limited are continuing to work on upgrading the network.

A new fast-charging point will be installed outside Guernsey Electricity Limited by the end of the year.

We already have 13 charging stations across 11 locations; however, the upcoming installation will charge electric cars around three time faster.

The rapid charging station will be installed outside the Guernsey Electricity Retail Showroom on Northside.

Our charging units are accessible 24/7 and are operated by a pay as you go system via our Plug-No-Go app or card.

A new fast-charging point for electric cars will be installed outside Guernsey Electricity and available for public use by the end of the year.

Welcome Rohan!

We would like to introduce you to our new Data Analyst.

Before joining Plug-N-Go’s Guernsey office, Rohan was living in Kolkata, a city in the state of West Bengal, India. It was far from simple for Rohan to get to the Bailiwick due to the challenges of travelling during the pandemic. Rohan had to contend with Covid tests and hotel quarantines. In total he had to quarantine for 24 days!

Rohan has settled in well and is enjoying Guernsey life; “It's a beautiful island and fantastic place to work. The people here have given me a warm welcome, they are so friendly.”

The charge points at North Beach have been in operation since 2018.

All of our charging stations are operated by using the same app which can be downloaded by searching for Plug-N-Go/app. Users of the sites can also purchase a key fob through the Plug-N-Go app to access the charging units, which means users can easily use the sites by two methods and access other charging stations within the publicly available Plug-N-Go network.

The charging units are accessible 24/7 and are operated by a pay-as-you-go system, operational information is available on site and a 24/7 helpline contact telephone number is available at all sites.

Charge your electric car using a key fob.

After registering with us, you can request a Plug-N-Go fob using the app. This is another way of starting your charge. To request a charging fob, simply go to the profile section of the app, tap ‘charging keys’ and then ‘order new charging key’.

To start the charge, briefly hold your fob against the front of the charge point to start your charge with our needing to use the app. You can end the charge using the app or by tapping your fob on the charge point.
