A broken water main has interrupted supply to consumers in Petite Bacaye, Red Gate, La Calome, Old Westerhall, Westerhall Heights and surrounding communities in the parish of St. David.

Restoration is anticipated by 3:00 p.m. today, Thursday, June 18th, 2026.

Consumers in the affected communities are encouraged to utilize their stored supply.

Every effort will be made to restore service within the scheduled timeframe; however, supply may return gradually as the system recharges, with customers in higher elevations possibly experiencing a delay of up to two hours.

Customers are also advised that temporary discoloration or turbidity is possible as normal pressure returns and sediments within the pipelines become disturbed.

NAWASA apologizes for any inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience and understanding as we continue working to improve service delivery.

Jeremie Murray, District Supervisor, Transmission and Distribution Department, and Juan Lambert, Production & Quality Supervisor, Production and Quality Department, are currently in St. Lucia participating in the Regional AR6 Water Filtration Technical Training & Interoperability Workshop, being held from June 15–19, 2026 in Castries.

The workshop is hosted by the Caribbean Water and Sewerage Association (CAWASA) in collaboration with the Global Support and Development (GSD) Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Programme.

Participants from CWSA St. Vincent and the Grenadines, NAWASA Grenada, WASA Trinidad and Tobago, WASCO Saint Lucia, and NEMO Saint Lucia have come together to strengthen regional cooperation and emergency response capabilities.

The training focuses on the operation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the AR6 High-Capacity Water Filtration System, a simple yet versatile portable multi-stage filtration system designed for rapid deployment during emergencies and disasters. The system removes up to 99.99% of pathogens and particulates, providing safe drinking water from surface water sources without extensive chemical treatment.

Through hands-on exercises, water quality testing, field deployment simulations, and interoperability discussions, participants are building the technical expertise needed to support decentralized water production and rapid emergency response throughout the region.

This specialized training will further enhance NAWASA's preparedness and ability to provide safe drinking water during emergencies, supporting Grenada's disaster resilience efforts and strengthening regional collaboration in the water sector.
